Chester's passing was extremely hard for me - for Allen too, but especially for for me. I'd had him for a third of my life. Although I missed him so much - it didn't take me long to realize that a dog person is happiest with a dog! I began looking online. We knew we didn't have time to potty train; so I knew we didn't want a puppy. I began looking at Rottweiler rescue sites trying to get a feel and see if anyone jumped out at me. That's when I found Sketch. He was somewhere between

a year and a half to two years old, he was potty trained, and he had his tail just like Chester did! He was staying at the ARK (Animal Recycling Kennel), a no-kill shelter just north of Peoria, IL. I brought the idea up to Allen (it was a few days after Chester passed), but he wasn't sure he wanted another dog. We talked and prayed about it at great length, finally after a couple days Allen said if God would provide a financial miracle within the next couple days he'd know we were supposed to have the dog.

Less than a half hour later, a friend from church called and said she and her husband had been praying about it and they wanted to pay our adoptions fees and give us a giftcard ($250!!!) to Petsmart for any start up costs (Thank you Adam & Kristen). I just started laughing... needless to say, Sketch is now our dog. :)

Praise God!
