My Mission

My mission is to spend time plugged into the Lord - particularly in worship because He is worthy! My desire is to be obedient - to do whatever the Lord has purposed me to do. Wherever He wants me to be, that's where I want to be. And whatever He asks me to do, that's what I want to do. Because it is only in His will that I am free. Hallelujah!

Below are some of the details of what's been going on:

Never would I have guessed 6 months ago that the words "silk scarves" would stir such passion in me! But this past summer the Lord began having me dye silk scarves. He tells me what colors and shapes and then gives them names and sometimes even deeper prophetic messages... it's been amazing! This past fall the Lord confirmed that I was to set up a site and begin offering them - He gave me the name: Dyed4You.com, and the verse 2 Corinthians 5:15 "And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again." Intercession and worship are all about living for Him - that's the heart behind Dyed4You.

Over the summer, Allen and I got involved in our High Speed Harvesters ministry doing outreaches in the north city area of St Louis. It's been a powerful ministry and many people have given their lives to the Lord as a result. Praise God!

I had the opportunity to share part of my testimony at our women's retreat this fall and it impacted quite a few women which was such a blessing. In addition, I began teaching at Revolution School this past fall; Allen and I taught the Overcomers community life group; and we were asked to be part of the church's leadership. It's been an exciting and challenging time!

It's so funny, I kept wondering what I'd do with all my time when the Lord had me stop volunteering and then stop doing freelance work. Well, now I know! God's had me doing a number of things at Destiny and with the Revolution School including revamping the Revolution School website, creating a new Women of Destiny website, loads of photography and more. It's been a blessing to be back involved and to know I'm in His will.

The more time I'm spending plugged into Him, the more I realize I am really not sure where He's taking me (and us - Allen). Also, the more I realize that "My Mission" is sort of a misnomer for this page unless all I say under it is "to do whatever the Lord has purposed me to do." Wherever He wants me to be, that's where I want to be. And whatever He asks me to do, that's what I want to do. I hope the same is true for everyone. Because it is only in His will that I am free. Praise God!

Right now, the Lord has me in a quiet place. When we left Grace Church in early September the Lord finished unplugging me from all the things I was involved in (see entry from Aug 2005 below). Since our move from Grace to Destiny in mid-September, He has kept me intentionally unplugged - well, unplugged from everything but Him. He's called me to spend one-on-one time with Him - have some healing and growth. It's been hard because I love to volunteer and also (if I'm totally honest), I like to chalk up those accomplishments! And to say that God just has you hanging out with Him could sound like a cop-out to some people, but in reality - that's where He has me. And it's been a blessing!

He shared with me that He has me in a cocoon right now... love that picture - all wrapped up in Him. Wow. God is good.

9 Aug 2005

I am a prayer warrior with a heart for women and marriage as well as seeing people truly walking in the freedom Christ has given us. I'm still praying over the exact direction that God wants to go with that, but here's where His leadings have gotten me so far.

In May 2003, I started a Monday night ladies prayer group - we get together and pray for our husbands, families, and marriages as well as our church. In August 2003, I joined the prayer team at church (which was exciting - especially the story behind how God got me to do it!). Then in November 2004, I accepted the role of Prayer Team Director after the couple who'd filled that role for over a decade stepped down. I'm just grateful that God cares more about our availability than our ability! But He has certainly begun growing and stretching me in the role.

In spring of 2005, my husband Allen joined me on the prayer team and in the summer of 2005, Allen and I began deliverance training under Vito & Pat Rallo of Free Indeed Ministries. Still not sure where God is leading this, but we're excited to find out!

I also have a heart for women. I know the struggles we women go through and the burdens we put on ourselves - I have a heart for women of all ages. I want to see those that don't have a personal relationship with Jesus come to know Him - and I want those that do know Him to be encouraged and strengthened in their faith. Any part I can play in that is what I want to do. This has made me want to get more involved in women's ministry.

In fall of 2003, I helped with our women's teleconference (THRiVE) - I sold tickets and worked the door the day of the event. The event was so powerful for me that I contacted our women's ministry director in August 2004 to volunteer in whatever way she needed for the 2004 event. She gave the opportunity to coordinate the whole thing with her - it was awesome! I even got to MC at our church. Again, it was a powerful event. You might want to see if THRiVE is coming to your area - or if you're in the St. Louis area - come join us for the event at Grace Church.

If you have a prayer need, please don't hesitate to contact me - I would be honored to pray for/with you!
